Rohe, whose family owns Rohe Farms, was the Onondaga County Dairy Princess for 2016-17. The state dairy princess is chosen from a competition between the county dairy princesses. The contest included an interview, oral questions, a prepared speech, a dairy product knowledge exam and writing skills test. The princesses were all evaluated on their communication skills, knowledge of the dairy industry, poise and personality. Rohe is the 54th state dairy princess. Emily Ooms, of Valatie in Columbia County, was the 2016-17 princess.
